LOCATION: Must reside near a major metro area in Texas
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services by performing the essential duties below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the company’s products which includes some cold calling
• Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalog emphasizing salable features
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors
• Investigate and resolve customer problems
• Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas
• Quote prices and prepares sales contracts for obtained orders
• Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
• Provide feedback on adequate stock levels
• Participate in trade shows and conventions
• Responsible for making occasional trips to the corporate office or other training and team building events to be determined by the national sales manager
• All other duties as required
Qualifications:
• High School diploma
• 3-5 years related experience and/or training in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of building material experience preferred
• 3+ years of builder’s hardware experience preferred
• Travel within your territory with 8-10 overnights per month
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication via phone, email and in-person
• Able to multi-task and remain organized while adapting to the needs of the organization
• Ability to be flexible and manage several tasks at the same time to meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
